
#4 Pack Prepares to Host Boston College and SMU, Senior Day on Sunday

RALEIGH – Fourth-ranked NC State men's tennis prepares to host Boston College and 64th-ranked SMU this weekend as the last weekend of the regular season with two matches. The match with Boston College is set for a 5 p.m. start on Friday, while the match with No. 64 SMU is slated for Sunday at noon with senior day recognition to follow the conclusion of the match.

Boston College
• Start time for the match is slated for 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, and is set to be played outdoors.
• Fans arriving before 5 p.m. will need to fill out a virtual parking permit pass to park for free (instructions here).
• Free NC State men's tennis stickers will be given away to fans while supplies last.

SMU
• Start time for the match is slated for noon on Sunday, April 6, and is set to be played outdoors.
• Senior day recognition will begin after the conclusion of the match to honor Braden Shick, Luca Staeheli, and Fons Van Sambeek.
• Free t-shirts will be given away to fans while supplies last. Those in attendance will also be able to enter to win a prize pack.

Series History with Boston College (leads 22-0)
• Friday's dual-match marks the 23rd meeting between the Wolfpack and the Eagles. NC State leads the series and has never allowed Boston College to beat them.
• The two last faced each other last season (March of 2024) in Raleigh which resulted in a 7-0 win for the Wolfpack, the Eagles haven't scored on the Pack in five years.
Series History with SMU (trails 1-2)
• Sunday's dual-match marks the fourth meeting overall, and first conference matchup between the Wolfpack and the Mustangs. NC State trails the series but the two haven't met in this century.
• The two last faced each other in March of 1998 which resulted in a 4-3 win for the Wolfpack.

NC State defeated both No. 46 Georgia Tech and No. 22 Clemson by 4-1 scores on the road.

Team Highlights
• After defeating No. 9 Mississippi State by a 4-1 score on the road, the team qualified for ITA National Team Indoors for the first time since the 2020 season. The win marked the first top-10 win for the program since the 2022 season.
• A strong opening performance at the ITA Team Indoor Championships allowed NC State to take down No. 8 Kentucky by a 4-1 score, marking the second top-10 win of the season.
• Displaying resilience and determination at home, the Pack defeated No. 6 Stanford 4-2 at home playing on indoor courts, marking the third top-10 win of the season.
• The team moved up to No. 6 in the rankings on March 4, tying for the program's best-ever ranking, the last time was in March 2020.
• After defeating No. 5 Virginia and tallying the fourth top-10 win of the season, the team landed fifth in the ITA rankings, breaking the highest team ranking in program history.
• The Pack is currently on an 11-match winning streak that began just before the start of conference action, this streak also includes four straight 4-0 sweeps over ACC opponents.
• With a 10-0 record in league play, the Pack has tied its record for single-season conference wins that was set last year. Anymore wins over ACC opponents will be a new program record.
• This week, the team moved up to No. 4 in the country, breaking the highest team ranking in program history for the second time this season.
Individual Highlights
• The Pack holds three players ranked in singles (No. 29 Braden Shick, No. 37 Martin Borisiouk, and No. 74 Luca Staeheli) and two pairs ranked in doubles (No. 7 Braden Shick & Fons Van Sambeek and No. 11 Jules Leroux & Luca Staeheli).
• Going undefeated in doubles and singles against No. 21 Harvard, LSU, and No. 9 Mississippi State all in the same week, Jules Leroux and Luca Staeheli claimed all of the ACC Weekly Awards as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, January 28. Staeheli was named Player of the Week, Leroux was named Freshman of the Week and the two together were named the Doubles Team of the Week.
• Braden Shick earned his first conference weekly honor of the season when he was named ACC Player of the Week on February 11 for his dominant victory over No. 20 Paul Inchauspe.
• After going undefeated in singles and doubles and making huge contributions to win three straight matches over UNC Greensboro, No. 22 California, and No. 6 Stanford in just five days, Jules Leroux and Luca Staeheli racked up more ACC Weekly Awards. Leroux was named Freshman of the Week while Staeheli was Player of the Week on Tuesday, March 4.
• Martin Borisiouk took home his well-deserved ACC Player of the Week honor on Tuesday, March 11 after he upset his opponent to clinch the team's win over No. 5 Virginia on the road.
• Fons Van Sambeek was named ACC Player of the Week on Tuesday, March 18 after he went undefeated in singles and doubles across matches with No. 32 Florida State and No. 34 Miami. Alongside his doubles partner, Braden Shick, they upset Florida State's leading doubles pair that were ranked third in the country at the time.
• Both Borisiouk and Leroux have not recorded losses in singles action since February.
• Leroux, Manning, Van Sambeek, Shick, and Staeheli have reached double figures in singles action from the dual season alone.
• Shick and Van Sambeek are on a five-match winning streak in doubles.
