
Wolfpack Kicks Off The Competition With Eight All-Americans On Day One

FEDERAL WAY, WASH. – The No. 7 NC State men's swimming team completed a strong start on Day 1 of the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday evening, earning eight new All-American honors. The Wolfpack currently sits in fifth place on the leaderboard with 50 points.
The Men's 200 Medley Relay team, featuring Quintin McCarty, Jerry Fox, Sam Hoover, and Luke Miller, kicked off the competition with a sixth-place finish. Their time of 1:21.16 not only secured a spot on the podium but also marked the third-fastest time in program history. McCarty led the way with the fastest 100 backstroke leadoff time of the entire event, clocking in at 20.24.
In the Men's 800 Freestyle Relay, Kaii Winkler, Daniel Diehl, Luke Miller, and Sam Hoover capped off Day 1 with a seventh-place finish in 6:06.95. This result extends the Pack's remarkable streak to 13 consecutive years of All-American honors in this event.
Fifth-year senior Luke Miller, with two podium finishes in the relays, is now chasing his 20th All-American title across the remaining six sessions. Miller currently holds 19 All-American honors and is poised to join the top five in NC State's most decorated athletes.
Looking ahead, the Pack will have several athletes competing tomorrow in the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, 50 freestyle, and 200-yard freestyle relay events.
