
Wolfpack Secures Two Bronze Medals and Sets New School Record on Day One of ACC Championships

GREENSBORO, NC- The NC State Wolfpack wrapped up day one at the 2025 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships Tuesday, Feb. 18 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.Â
Day one of the competition was filled with impressive Wolfpack performances in relay events, including both the men's and women's 200 medley relays and the 800 freestyle relays.
The Wolfpack women's 200 medley relay team kicked off the evening with a solid fifth-place finish, posting a time of 1:35.22. This marks the second-fastest 200 medley relay time of the season. The men's team followed suit, becoming the first to reach the podium in this championship season, securing third place with a time of 1:22.06. Hudson Williams set a personal best with a leadoff time of 21.02, while Sam Hoover capped off the relay with the fastest butterfly split in NC State history and the fastest butterfly split of the entire field, finishing with a time of 22.88.
In the 800 freestyle relay, the Wolfpack women's team, consisting of Annabel Crush, Katharine Helms, Erika Pelaez, and Olivia Nel, made history by posting the fastest 800 freestyle relay time in school history with a 6:56.32, surpassing the previous record of 6:58.48 set in 2021.Â
To cap off the night, the men's 800 freestyle relay team, featuring Kaii Winkler, Daniel Diehl, Sam Hoover, and Jerry Fox, earned their second bronze medal of the competition season with a time of 6:09.18.Â
Morning Prelims:
The NC State women's diving team kicked off their championship competition in the one-meter event. Two-time ACC Diver of the Week, Elisabeth Rockefeller, led the way for the Wolfpack, finishing in 34th place during the prelims. Ashton Zuburg and Celia Bidwell followed closely behind, securing 48th and 49th place finishes, respectively.
On the men's side, the Wolfpack diving team, consisting of Calvin Leblanc, Noah Wanzer, and Will Schwallier, competed in the 3-meter event. Leblanc led the charge for NC State, finishing in 34th place. Will Schwallier followed in 41st place, while Noah Wanzer rounded out the competition in 37th place.
On deck tomorrow the Pack will head into day two of competition with prelims beginning at 9:30 AM
