Rodriguez named Women's Soccer Assistant Coach

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State women's soccer head coach Gary Higgins has announced the addition of Assistant Coach David Rodriguez to his coaching staff.
Rodriguez joins Higgins after serving as the head coach of NC Courage Academy for the last three years. He brings ample coaching experience with over 10 years of experience at both the club and collegiate levels.
He has served in many coaching roles at North Carolina FC Youth since 2014. In addition to serving as the U13-U19 Classic North Boys Director, Rodriguez has coached in the NCFC Academy Program since 2017 and worked as an assistant coach with the North Carolina FC U23 team.
Other coaching experiences include serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the men's soccer team at Louisburg College and the men's soccer team at UNC. He currently holds a USSF "B" License from US Soccer.
"I am very excited to add David to our coaching staff," Higgins said. "I have known David for the last 12 years and his knowledge of the game is excellent. He has been in one of the best coaching environments in the country for the last 10 years."

Rodriguez played collegiately for UNC from 2006-2010 where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in exercise sports science with a focus on sports administration.
After college, he played semi-professionally with Reading United/Greensboro Dynamo of the USL Premier Development League, Knoxville Force of the NPSL and Harrisburg City islanders of the USLPro.
Rodriguez resides in Raleigh with his wife Yasemin, and their two children, Phoebe and Luc.
