CHARLOTTE, N.C. – NC State softball player Kendall Weik is one of 12 Atlantic Coast Conference student-athletes to receive the Go Teach Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway.
Weik joined the Pack prior to the 2025–26 academic year after spending two seasons at Madison College. A native of small-town Wisconsin, she was a three-sport athlete in high school and was coached by several teachers who influenced her both on the field and in the classroom.
Through a partnership between the College Football Playoff Foundation and Dr Pepper, each recipient will receive $2,500 toward their education. One student-athlete will later be awarded a $10,000 Grand Prize, selected by the ACC's awards committee. Campus representatives nominated the honorees, with the Grand Prize winner to be chosen by the committee.
Assistant Vice Chancellor and Senior Associate Athletic Director Katie Graham said, "Kendall was selected because of her expressed passion for education. I learned through the nomination process that Kendall wants to return to her hometown after graduation to teach and impact children from her community in the same way her teachers positively influenced her when she was growing up. Kendall is an incredibly high-achieving student who maintains a positive attitude, even through adversity, and she is incredibly deserving of this recognition."
The right-handed pitcher added, "I hope to become the person for the next generation that encourages, motivates, and stands beside students to discover what they are capable of in life. It is not just a career path for me but a way to honor those who shaped me and continue their legacy of impact."
Weik is one of two softball players selected for the giveaway, joining Macee Eaton of Virginia.
