Duo of Broadfoot and Osuigwe Earn All-American Status with Round of 16 Win at NCAA Individual Championships

ORLANDO, Fla. - The 10th-ranked doubles team of Gabriella Broadfoot and Victoria Osuigwe earned ITA All-American status with a victory in the round of 16 at the NCAA Individual Championships, marking the second straight season that NC State women's tennis has produced a doubles All-American pairing. The honor is the second of the week for Broadfoot, who secured singles All-America recognition on Wednesday, and her second consecutive doubles All-America nod. Osuigwe, a freshman, collects the first All-American distinction of her career in her debut season with the Pack.
Broadfoot and Osuigwe clinched their quarterfinal berth with a straight sets win over No. 9 Melodie Collard and Vivian Yang of Virginia, defeating the Cavalier duo 6-4, 6-4. The Wolfpack pair has yet to drop a set through two rounds of the NCAA Doubles Championship.
In singles action, NC State's two All-Americans, Broadfoot and Mia Slama, both saw their strong tournament runs conclude in the round of 16.
No. 72 Slama, who earned her first-career All-American honors with a round of 32 victory on Wednesday, fell in straight sets to USC's Hossam Salah.
No. 78 Broadfoot also bowed out in the round of 16, dropping her match in two sets to Cal's No. 113 Berta Passola Folch.
