
Borisiouk Advances to NCAA Singles Round of 32

ORLANDO, Fla. – 15th-ranked Martin Borisiouk on the NC State men's tennis team advanced to the second round of the 2025 NCAA Singles Championships by taking down UCLA's 19th-ranked Spencer Johnson.
Qualifying for the NCAA Singles Championships for the second year in a row, this year Martin Borisiouk has broken past the first round, after falling in the round of 64 last season.
With a challenging first-round draw, Borisiouk was able to claim his match over 19th-ranked Spencer Johnson of UCLA in three sets. He claimed the first set 6-2, while falling in set two to a 6-7 (4-7) tiebreaker, and finally battling through another 7-6 (7-1) tiebreaker in the final set to advance to the round of 32.
Borisiouk is set to face Arizona's Filip Gustafsson tomorrow in the round of 32. Fans wishing to follow along can watch on ESPN+ here, and live scoring is available here.
