RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's tennis team is ranked No. 14 in the ITA Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll, as the organization announced Monday.
Last season, the Pack finished 22-9 and 9-4 in the ACC. The Pack hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA Championships, beating South Carolina State (W, 4-0) and Old Dominion (W, 4-0) before falling to Stanford in the Sweet 16 (L, 0-4).
This marks the sixth consecutive year the Pack is ranked inside the top 15 in the ITA Preseason Poll, with its best preseason ranking being at No. 3 ahead of the 2022-23 season.
The Pack is loaded with young talent with three freshmen, four sophomores and one junior. Anna Zyranova is coming off the 2023-24 season having earned All-ACC Third Team honors in singles with a 33-14 record, as well as named the Most Improved Player in the Carolina Region by ITA. Maddy Zampardo earned All-ACC Second Team honors in doubles.
In the fall, Gabriella Broadfoot and Zampardo made big noise, finishing the fall with a No. 5 ITA national ranking and All-America status after winning the ITA All-American Doubles Championship. The tandem went 14-3 and 7-0 against ranked opponents, wrapping up the slate with an Elite 8 finish at the NCAA Doubles Championship.
Jasmine Conway and Kristina Paskauskas are ranked No. 60 in doubles after the fall. The duo finished 5-3 and earned a ranked win over the No. 70 ranked doubles team. Freshman Gabia Paskauskas is ranked No. 55 in singles following an 8-4 fall record, including a big run through pre-qualifying and qualifying rounds with five straight wins at the ITA All-American.
NC State begins the season this week at the Miami Invitational from Jan. 10-12 in Coral Gables.
