RALEIGH, N.C. – One of the most decorated NC State women's tennis players of all time, Amelia Rajecki continues to add to her long list of accolades as she was honored as the national winner of the 2024 ITA Senior Player of the Year Award, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Thursday afternoon.
The award honors the senior student-athlete who had the best year among all student-athletes in their class.
Throughout her four-year career at NC State, Rajecki amassed over 100 wins in both singles and doubles making her only the third player to have more than 100 wins in singles and doubles with the Wolfpack. She finishes her career with 109 singles wins, and 103 doubles wins, placing her third all-time in program history in both categories.
En route to ITA All-American and First Team All-ACC honors this season, the Nottingham, England native achieved the highest ITA ranking in program history, being ranked as the No. 2 player in the country for most of the second half of the season. In back-to-back seasons, Rajecki made it to the semifinals of the NCAA Individual Singles Championships.
She led NC State with 37 wins in singles this season; three wins short of matching the program record she set last season. Named All-ACC second team in doubles, Rajecki went 29-10 and 8-2 in conference play.
Rajecki becomes the fourth Wolfpack women's tennis player in the last three seasons to receive ITA national recognition, joining Diana Shnaider, who won the ITA Carolina District Rookie of the Year Award last season. Jaeda Daniel was named ITA's most-improved senior in 2022, and Anna Rogers also earned the ITA Carolina Region Most Improved Senior Award.
