Cozart Tabbed Perfect Game Second Team All-American

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State catcher Jacob Cozart was named a 2024 Perfect Game Second Team All-American on Wednesday afternoon.
Cozart, who was just named a Buster Posey Award Finalist on Thursday, earns the first All-America honor of his stellar Wolfpack career. After teammate Alec Makarewicz was named an NCBWA Third Team All-American earlier on Wednesday, Cozart is the 47th student-athlete in program history to earn All-America accolades.
The Wolfpack catcher enters the College World Series with a .300 batting average, 19 homers, 53 RBI, 60 runs scored and a .430 on-base percentage. Cozart's 49 walks rank first among all NC State players as he enters this weekend's Omaha matchups with an OPS of 1.034.
Defensively, Cozart has thrown out 13 of 40 runners attempting to steal this season and sported a .994 fielding percentage, recording 433 putouts and 39 assists. During the ACC regular season, Cozart ranked first among all ACC catchers with 13 runners caught stealing.
Cozart was also named a First Team All-ACC honoree and to the Golden Spikes Midseason Watch List earlier this season. He was one of just 45 student-athletes nationally named to the list.
