Pack Finishes in Eighth Place at ACC Men’s Golf Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The NC State men's golf team finished in eighth place at the 2024 ACC Men's Golf Championship held at Charlotte Country Club.
Joey Lenane paced the Pack at the ACC Championship, placing in a tie for eighth place at two-under for the tournament. Lenane started the tournament with back-to-back rounds of 69 and then shot a 73 in inclement weather on Sunday.
Only six of the 60 golfers on Sunday shot under par as rain and wind hampered play in Charlotte.
The eighth place finish is the first top-10 finish of the season for Lenane and the second of his career.
Nick Mathews for next for the Pack in a tie for 23rd place at two-over par for the tournament. Mathews shot an even-par 71 in the first round on Friday and fired a one-over par 72 on Sunday, the best round for an NC State golfer in the third and final round.
Carter Graf was next for NC State, four shots back of Mathews in a tie for 35th place. Graf had his best round of the Championship on Friday with a one-over par 72.
Spencer Oxendine came in one shot back of Graf in a tie for 37th place. Oxendine shot two-under par 69 in the first round.
Ethan Choi rounded out the NC State lineup in a tie for 51st place at 12-over par.
Wake Forest's Michael Brennan and Florida State's Frederik Kjettrup were declared co-medalists after five playoff holes. The duo both finished 54 holes at seven-under par
The top four teams after three rounds of play (North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Florida State and Wake Forest) advance to Monday's match play. The semifinals start at 7:30 a.m. and the championship match will take place at 1:30 p.m. Both the semifinals and championship match will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
