NC State Set To Take On Florida State in Quarterfinals of ACC Tournament

RALEIGH, N.C.- No. 11 NC State is set to play No. 17 Florida State in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament at 12:30 PM Friday April 19 at Cary Tennis Park.
The Pack picked up the No. 3 seed heading into tournament play, giving the Wolfpack a two game bye to Friday. The Pack ended its regular season with an overall record of 17-5 and 10-2 in conference play. The Pack checked off its last two boxes of its regular season agenda last week defeating both No. 23 North Carolina 4-0, and No. 14 Duke 4-2 at home in Raleigh. The Pack recorded the most ACC wins in a regular season after defeating the Blue Devils breaking the record with ten wins.
The last time the Pack won an ACC championship was back in 1979 where the Pack won back to back championships under coach J.W. Isenhour.
This week the Pack secured the No. 11 spot in ITA team rankings, recording the highest team ranking heading into the postseason under coach Kyle Spencer. Coming out hot the Pack continues to climb each week across the board. Senior Robin Catry continues to lead the Pack at the No. 53 spot in ITA rankings. Junior Fons Van Sambeek continues to make moves in the charts securing the No. 63 spot in ITA singles rankings. Junior Braden Shick and Luca Staeheli also make appearances in the rankings. Shick at the No. 76 spot, and Staeheli and the No. 124 spot.
Duo Luca Staeheli, and Robin Catry soared in the charts to the No. 41 spot this week heading into tournament play.
Scouting the Seminoles:
The Wolfpack took on the Seminoles April 7 in Tallahassee FL. In a neck and neck battle the Pack came out on top defeating the Seminoles 4-3 wrapping up the Pack's last road match of the regular season.
The Seminoles ended their regular season with a 18-7 overall record picking up the No. 17 spot in ITA rankings. Heading into tournament play the Seminoles are currently the sixth seed advancing to Friday, after defeating No. 65 Virginia Tech Thursday afternoon 4-1.
Sitting at the No. 17 spot, the Seminoles feature doubles team's No. 27 Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc & Joshua Dous Karpens. In the Seminoles singles rotation No. 5 Antonie Cornut-Chauvinc makes an appearance.
