NC State Sweeps Gymnastics Weekly Awards for Second Time

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – No. 21 NC State gymnastics swept the ACC Weekly Awards for the second time this season following a quad-meet victory over Iowa State, Northern Illinois and Temple on Saturday afternoon in Reynolds Coliseum.
Emily Shepard earned her sixth-straight ACC Gymnast of the Week honor, while Katya Edwards won ACC Specialist of the Week and Katie Harper was tabbed the ACC Newcomer of the Week.
As a team, the Wolfpack's score of 197.000 was its second-highest score of the season and third-highest total of the Kim Landrus era at NC State. The Wolfpack has now posted back-to-back scores of 197+ in Reynolds Coliseum.
Shepard registered her 50th-career score of 9.9+, tabbing the 49th of her career at NC State on bars with a 9.950 and ending the afternoon with a score of 9.925 on floor. She earned her sixth all-around crown of the Pack's 2024 season at 39.525.
Harper tied Shepard with a personal-best 9.950 on bars, while Edwards set a new career-high on floor with a 9.925. Harper also logged a 9.800 on beam as the Pack secured a 49.100 or higher as a team for the fourth-straight meet.
NC State continues its 2024 campaign on Thursday afternoon at Temple. The Wolfpack opens its quad-meet at Temple's McGonigle Hall against the Owls, Maryland and Penn at 1 p.m.
