RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State gymnastics has announced that alongside the Wolfpack Club, the program will be hosting a celebration for the 1984 ACC Championship team and alumni reunion Mar. 9-10.
The reunion and anniversary celebration will coincide with NC State's senior day meet against Penn, Penn State, and Texas Woman's University on Mar. 10.
Program alumni will be invited to practice the day before the meet and will be provided a tour of NC State's current gymnastics facilities, in addition to a reception on Saturday leading into the meet to honor the Pack's 1984 team.
NC State's 1984 squad, which was the program's fourth team in its 44-year history, claimed the ACC crown in a quad meet against Duke, Maryland, and North Carolina on Feb. 24, 1984. It was the first, and before this season, the only time that the league has sponsored a gymnastics championship meet. The Pack posted a season-high 175.250 that day to win its first of seven conference championships, with host North Carolina finishing in second place (174.650), Maryland coming in third (173.850) and Duke rounding out the day in fourth (170.200).
NC State gymnastics alumni who have questions regarding the reunion or are interested in attending can contact the Wolfpack Club at (919) 865-1500, or can fill out a form to indicate their interest in attending with the attached link.
