#PackPro Patrick Bailey Wins Gold Glove Award

SAN FRANSICO, Ca. – Former Wolfpack Baseball standout and current San Francisco Giant Patrick Bailey was named best catcher in the National League as the #PackPro won his first Rawlings Gold Glove Award.
He also caught 19 runners stealing on 64 attempts—the most in the National League—which was nine above the MLB average.
Drafted in the first round of the 2020 MLB Draft, Bailey is the fourth catcher to win a Gold Glove for the Giants, joining Buster Posey (2016), Mike Matheny (2005), and Kirt Manwaring (1993).
The 2018 ACC Freshman of the Year and All-American played three seasons with the Wolfpack and had a .302 career average in 131 games played. Bailey hit 29 home runs in three seasons and totaled 106 RBIs.
Considered one of the most prestigious defensive awards in baseball. Winners for position awards are determined from voting by the managers and coaches in each league.
Bailey led all Major League players with a +22 feilding run value in his sophomore season for the Giants. Bailey also paced MLB backstops with 16 catcher framing runs and 20 DRS, twice as many as 2023 Gold Glove winner Gabriel Moreno, who ranked second in the NL for the D-backs this year.He also caught 19 runners stealing on 64 attempts—the most in the National League—which was nine above the MLB average.
