Pack Conquers Hurricanes on Senior Day

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State volleyball team conquered Miami, 3-1, Wednesday afternoon in Reynolds Coliseum for the final home match of the 2024 campaign.
The Pack moves to 15-12 on the season and 10-9 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.

Breaking Down the Match
- The Wolfpack opened the afternoon with a back-and-forth battle with the Hurricanes. The two teams exchanged the lead five times as neither team could gain more than a two-point lead throughout the opening frame.
- A kill by junior outside hitter Ava Brizard allowed NC State to take set one, 26-24.
- Junior outside hitter Courtney Bryant led all scorers with six kills through the opening frame.
- The Pack started the second frame with a 3-1 lead over the Canes, but Miami quickly tied things four-all. A battle began, with the Wolfpack leading by two points at most on several occasions.
- Miami tallied six attacking errors in the set.
- A block by senior middle blocker Jada Allen allowed NC state to finish set two on top, 25-20.
- Senior Amanda Rice and Bryant each tallied 10 kills through the second frame.
- Despite NC State leading by five points during the third set, an 11-3 scoring run by Miami allowed the Canes to take set three, 25-21 and extend the meeting.
- Rice and Bryant combined for 28 kills through the third frame.
- The Pack trailed to start the fourth set until a service ace by junior Sydney Daniels tied things 12-all. The Wolfpack would go on to lead but Miami tied the final frame two more times before NC State sealed the deal. The Pack took the fourth set, 25-20 and claimed the match 3-1.
- Rice's 19 kills and 20 digs marked her first career double double.
- Stokes three service aces marked the eighth match this season that she has tallied three or more aces.
- The win marks the 15th of the season, 10th in conference play, 815th overall in program history, 213th in conference play in program history, and 77th under head coach Luka Slabe.
