Broadfoot, Zampardo Advanced to Elite 8 at NCAA Doubles Championship

WACO, Texas – Gabriella Broadfoot and Maddy Zampardo of the NC State women's tennis team have advanced to the quarterfinals at the NCAA Doubles Championship following a 6-4, 4-6 (10-5) victory over UNC's Theadora Rabman and Tatum Evans. Broadfoot and Zampardo are the third team to reach the NCAA Doubles Elite Eight, following Alana Smith & Anna Rogers (2019, 2021) and Jaeda Daniel & Nell Miller (2022).
The duo started out strong with a 6-4 set one win. In the second set, Broadfoot and Zampardo tied things up, 3-3, but the UNC pair closed out the set to take the 6-4 win to force a tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, first to 10, the Pack cruised to a 10-5 advantage to close out the match with a victory and a spot to the quarterfinals. The Pack tandem will play UCLA's Kate Fakih and Olivia Center tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. Eastern.
The duo won 72 percent (23/32) of its first set points, 65 percent (15/23) of its second serve return points and 57 percent (4/7) of its break points.
