Breaking Down the Match
- The Wolfpack came out of the gates hot and never slowed down.
- NC State held a nine-point lead in the opening frame (19-10) as the Orange struggled to tame slow the offensive efforts of the Wolfpack. Junior defensive specialist Sydney Daniels tallied three consecutive service aces to continue increasing the lead. After a 5-0 scoring run by NC State, Syracuse called a timeout in hopes of regrouping.
- The Pack took the first set, 25-14 and senior opposite Amanda Rice led all scorers with five kills.
- The Wolfpack went on a 10-2 scoring run to open the second frame. Syracuse called an early timeout in hopes of slowing the Pack, but NC State continued to dominate.
- Daniels tallied two more service aces to help keep the Wolfpack on top. Rice was a force to be reckoned with as she tallied seven kills on eight attempts to finish the second set hitting .875. She led the offensive efforts as NC State took set two, 25-13.
- Syracuse kept the third set close, despite the Wolfpack leading by eight at one point. Eventually minimizing the deficit to four (19-15), Syracuse forced head coach Luka Slabe to use his first timeout of the evening. The Orange would later minimize the deficit to two (20-22), but back-to-back kills by the Pack sealed the deal. After a 3-0 scoring run to close out the evening, NC State took set three, 25-20.
- Daniels finished the evening with six service aces to set a new single match career high. The mark ties for fifth in the record book for most in a single match. She joins libero Skye Stokes as the only other current member of the Pack to tally six or more in a match.
- The win marked the 12th of the season, seventh in conference play, 812th overall in program history, 210th ACC win in program history, and the 74th win under Slabe.
