RALEIGH – The NC State men's basketball team wrapped up its preseason with a 79-75 win over Lees-McRae at Lenovo Center on Wednesday night.
NC State played 11 scholarship players in the game and all 11 scored with Jayden Taylor leading the way with 11 points.
The Pack had 10 players score at least six points in the game, but Taylor was the only player to reach double figures for NC State.
Breon Pass and Dontrez Styles each added nine points, while Styles added a team-high nine rebounds.
NC State only allowed Lees-McRae to make one field in the first nine minutes of the game as the Pack ran out to a 20-3 lead just eight minutes into the contest.
NC State led by as many as 21 points in the first half and took a 44-25 advantage into the halftime locker room.
The Bobcats played an impressive second half though, shooting 57.9 percent in the final 20 minutes to come all the way back and tie the game at 69 with 3:40 to go, but NC State responded with a 7-0 run to effectively put the game out of reach.
NC State will open the regular season on Monday, Nov. 4 when it hosts USC Upstate inside the Lenovo Center. Tipoff is slated for 7pm on ACC Network Extra.
Prior to tipoff against the Spartans the Pack will unveil two banners in the Lenovo Center, one commemorating the team's ACC Championship last season and the other banner to recognize the team advancing to the 2024 Final Four.
