Softball Inks Additional Two Athletes to 2024 Class

RALEIGH – NC State softball head coach Lindsay Leftwich announced the addition of two additional athletes, Anna McGowan and Kendall Simmers, to the 2024 signing class Wednesday.
Leftwich said, “We are so excited to add Kendall and Anna to the Pack. Both exemplify values that push NC State softball forward – work, ownership, love and fight. The value of adding players from this region is very important to the staff and I know both young women love the red and white deeply. We can't wait for the entire 2024 class to join the Wolfpack on campus!”
Anna McGowan | IF | Waxhaw, N.C.

McGowan will join the Pack from Waxhaw. She has a list of accolades, including: 2023 District 6 AAAA Player of the Year, 2023 Southern Carolina Conference Player of the Year, two-time Union County MVP, three-time All-State, District, Conference; three-time Unity County First Team, two-time Hot Stove Greater Charlotte Area 2024 Rising Star Award nominee. She holds the Marvin Ridge single season school records for OPS, home runs, and RBI’s.
While playing travel ball for Top Gun National, McGowan was part of the 2023 USA Softball 18U National Championship team, three-time SC/NC ASA State Champion, Atlanta Legacy Champion, PG States Champion, and placed fifth at the 2021 TCS National.
In the classroom, she is a member of National Honor Society, A Honor Roll, three-time academic achievement award recipient, and hold above a 4.00 GPA.

Kendall Simmers | IF | Bridgewater, Virginia

Simmers joins the Pack from Bridgewater and has a resume of accolades. In addition to being a two-time USA Softball Virginia State Champion, she qualified for the Alliance National Championship. She was tabbed a Triple Crown Nationals All-American and participated in the USA Softball Junior Olympic Cup where the squad was tabbed co-champions.
While playing at Turner Ashby high school, she earned All-State, All-Region, and All-District honors. She was Region 3C Player of the Year, and Valley District Player of the Year. In addition, she was also a three-time District Champion and State Quarterfinalist. In the classroom, she is a member of National Honor Society and a four year honor roll student.
