
Wolfpack Takes Down Clemson to Advance to ITA Indoor Championships

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Wolfpack punched its ticket Sunday to the ITA Indoor Championships with a 4-0 win over Clemson to win the Raleigh Region of ITA Kickoff Weekend.
The win sends the Wolfpack to the ITA Championships for the fifth time in the past six years. NC State (5-0) has won five straight matches to begin the season and has yet to drop a point to an opponent.
First to finish in singles was sophomore No. 40 Anna Zyryanova, who only dropped two games, winning 6-1, 6-1.
Following Zyranova was Amelia Rajecki, who was in control from start to finish, winning 6-0, 6-1. With the win, Rajecki now has 87 career singles' wins with the Wolfpack, putting her in a tie for fifth place on the all-time career wins list.
On court four, Sophie Abrams found herself down after the first set but battled back to win the second set 7-6 (7-3) after being down 4-5 to send it to a third and final set. In the third set, Abrams didn't give an inch, winning 6-3 to clinch the match for the Wolfpack.
Before the team makes the trip to Seattle, the Wolfpack travels to Knoxville to take on No. 17 Tennessee on Saturday. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
