Quarzo Set to Compete at USATF Cross Country Championships

RALEIGH - Freshman runner Jolena Quarzo will look to earn a bid to the 2024 World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Serbia this Saturday as she competes in the U20 women's 6k at the USATF Cross Country Championships in Richmond, Virginia.

Quarzo comes into the meet after helping the NC State women's squad capture its third consecutive women's cross country National Championship this past November.
The Pennsylvania native made her collegiate debut with the Wolfpack in the Adidas XC Challenge last September. Running unattached from NC State, Quarzo finished third overall with a time of 17:14.7 in the women's open 5k.
In her second and final appearance of the season, Quarzo came in second in the women's 6k at the 2023 ECU Pirate Invitational, clocking in at 20:58.9.
WHAT'S NEXT
Quarzo looks to qualify to become one of six members on the 2024 USATF Women's Junior Cross Country Team. Each country is allowed six entries into each race, with the top-four finishers scoring for each team.
The U20 women's 6k race will begin at 12:30 p.m. (ET).
