Negrete Named ACC Specialist of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Chloe Negrete was named the inaugural ACC Specialist of the Week on Friday recognizing her performance in the Wolfpack's season-opener at Georgia on Jan. 6.
Negrete, who was named EAGL Specialist of the Week twice in 2023, anchored three events for NC State, competing on vault, beam, and floor for the Wolfpack. Negrete's day was highlighted by tabbing the team's first 9.9+ score of the season with a 9.900 on beam in the Pack's final routine of the contest, while additionally leading the way for NC State on vault with a 9.875.
Through one week of competition, Negrete ranks in a tie for second amongst all ACC gymnast on vault, while currently sitting in first place as an individual in the league on beam.
Negrete and the rest of the Wolfpack return to action on Saturday, Jan. 13 as Kim Landrus' squad travels to West Valley City, Utah for the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad. The Wolfpack's first rotation is set for 9 p.m., as NC State will compete against BYU, Cal, and Michigan State. The meet is slated to be broadcast on the ACC Network.
