NC State returns home for ACC opener versus Boston College

RALEIGH, NC – After a two-game slide on its last road trip NC State returns to Dail Soccer Field for its ACC opener Friday night.

Boston College (2-1-1) comes to town as the Wolfpack (2-2) hopes to get back in the win column. Under seventh year coach George Kiefer, NC State is 2-4 in league openers. The Pack is 2-1 in ACC openers under Kiefer at home.

It will be George Tarantini Night at Dail Soccer Field. Start time for the match is 6 pm.

Tarantini led the Wolfpack for 25 seasons. He left Raleigh with an overall record of 234-197-43. He led NC State to the NCAA Tournament nine times, including a trip to the Final Four in 1990. Tarantini won an ACC championship as a head coach and once led the Pack to a No. 1 national ranking.

Tarantini will be honored before the game. Soccer alums will be recognized at halftime.

LAST TIME OUT

NC State was shut out for the first time this season, falling to Stetson on the road, 3-0. It was the first ever meeting between the Pack and Hatters.
