Concepcion Earns Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award Watch List Recognition

RALEIGH, NC – NC State freshman Kevin "KC" Concepcion has been named to the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Watch List, the Maxwell Football Club announced on Wednesday.
The sixth-annual award is presented to the outstanding freshman player in college football.
Hailing from Charlotte by way of Julius L. Chambers High School, Concepcion had 65 receptions for 977 yards and 12 touchdowns in his final two varsity seasons. As a senior, he caught 29 passes for 519 yards and four touchdowns while rushing the ball 17 times for 156 yards and two touchdowns. He finished his career with 1,032 all-purpose yards and averaged 35.0 yards per kick return.
The Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award has been presented since 2018 and is named in honor of Shaun Alexander, a former standout at the University of Alabama and with the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL.
The Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award watch list will incorporate a broad spectrum of Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) programs and conferences from coast to coast, with 37 candidates recognized.
