Aydan White Named to Prestigious Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Preseason Watchlist

RALEIGH, NC – The honors keep rolling in for Aydan White, as the junior cornerback was named to the 2023 Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Preseason Watch List as announced Thursday afternoon.
The award, given annually to the best defensive back in college football, includes 35 of the nation's best defensive backs.
White is just one of four defensive backs from the ACC to be nominated. He adds to his list of preseason accolades that include the preseason All-ACC football team and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watchlist.
White becomes the first NC State defensive back to make the list since David Amerson in 2012, who was a finalist for the award in 2011 - the year he set an ACC season record for interceptions.
The official presentation of the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award takes place in Oklahoma City following The Home Depot College Football Awards. The current winner and all former winners are invited each year to celebrate.
