RALEIGH – NC State softball head coach Lindsay Leftwich announced the addition of transfer catcher Payden Bordeau Friday morning.
Bordeau joins the Pack after three seasons at Georgia and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Leftwich said, "We are thrilled to announce the addition of Payden to our team. She has three years of incredible experience under two highly decorated coaches at Georgia that will only bolster an already elite NC State catching position. Her Women's College World Series (WCWS) experience will absolutely help this team know what it takes to be great, and we can't wait to see Payden as a part of our Pack."
The Apopka, Fla., native redshirted in 2023 but appeared in 84 games with 63 starts in her first two seasons with the Bulldogs. She hit a three-run homer in the first game of the 2021 WCWS against #4 Florida to give the Bulldogs extra insurance on their home field in the 4-0 win. She recorded only one error on 284 chances during her freshman campaign, in addition to leading the team in putouts with 263.
Bordeau was a 2021-22 SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll and 2023 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll member. This past year she was also the softball representative for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
