Gymnastics' Shepard Selected as EAGL Gymnast of the Week

RALEIGH – For the second-consecutive week, Emily Shepard was named EAGL Gymnast of the Week on Wednesday after her performance at Texas's Woman's with Florida and Washington on Mar. 12.
Shepard recorded one podium finish as the Pack wrapped up its regular season with a 196.375, using a career-high 9.925 on bars to finish the meet in a four-way tie for second place.
Shepard additionally posted a 9.900 on floor, which improved her program record of 9.900+ scores to 35 over the course of her career.
Shepard either individually posted or matched the Pack's highest score in every ever on Sunday, firing a 9.825 on vault and a 9.850 on beam to finish to contest with an all-around mark of 39.500, her second-highest four-event score of the season.
The recognition was the tenth time of her career that Shepard has been named an EAGL weekly award winner, seven of which have come as Gymnast of the Week honors.
Shepard and the rest of the Wolfpack's roster will be back in action on Saturday, Mar. 18 as NC State is set to compete in the EAGL Championships in Durham, N.H.
