NC State Earns No. 7 Seed for 2023 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament

Wolfpack set to face Princeton in first round on Friday, March 17

INDIANAPOLIS – Set to make its 28th appearance in the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament, the No. 7 seed Wolfpack will travel to Salt Lake City, Utah, to take on No. 10 seed Princeton in first-round action on Friday, March 17.
NC State will face off with the Tigers at 10 p.m. EST (8 p.m. local time) on ESPN2. Tickets for the first and second rounds in Salt Lake City are on sale now.
Friday's winner will take on the winner of the game between No. 2 seed and host school Utah and No. 15 seed Gardner-Webb on Sunday, March 19 (time TBD). The victor in that second-round matchup will head to Greenville, S.C., for regional action March 24-27.
This marks the Pack's seventh NCAA Tournament berth in 10 seasons of the Wes Moore era. NC State has been selected for the tournament five seasons in a row dating back to 2017 (the 2020 NCAA Tournament was canceled due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is the longest such streak for the team since it also went to six straight from 1995 through 2001.
NC State enters the NCAA Tournament with a 20-11 overall record on its 2022-23 season. The Pack came into Selection Sunday ranked 17th nationally in the NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) rankings after facing off against nine ranked opponents, 11 teams that qualified for the 2023 NCAA Tournament and five top-four seeds.
