Rajecki Earns Highest ITA Ranking in Program History

RALEIGH, N.C. – Following the conclusion of a successful slate of fall action, NC State has five singles players and three double pairs featured in the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings that were released Wednesday.
Highlighted by Amelia Rajecki, who was ranked No.3, which is the highest ranking ever by a Wolfpack player in program history. Sophie Abrams, after setting the program record with 16 singles wins in the fall, is ranked No.19. Senior Abigail Rencheli checks in at No. 27, Anna Zyryanova at No. 40, and freshman Maddy Zampardo at No. 116 to round out the singles rankings.
In the ITA National doubles rankings NC State was the only program with two pairs ranked in the top 10. First No. 7 Amelia Rajecki and Maddy Zampardo followed by No. 9 Sophie Abrams and Anna Zyryanova. The third Wolfpack pair to be ranked is Gabriella Broadfoot and Abigail Rencheli at No. 52.
Rajecki won the A1 singles draw with five ranked wins, which included defeating now No. 1 Mary Stoiana of Texas A&M and defeating No. 15 Irina Canto Siemers of Ohio State in the finals. It was the second consecutive year Rajecki took home first place as she won the A2 singles draw in the 2022 ranked spotlight event.
The doubles pair of Abrams and Zyryanova reached the semi-finals. at the Women's All- American Championships marking the third straight year the Wolfpack had a doubles team reach the semifinals. The pair defeated four ranked opponents en route.
The Wolfpack now turn their attention to the spring and the regular season with their full dual schedule to be released in the coming weeks.
