RALEIGH – NC State women's basketball (1-0) welcomes a top-five opponent to Raleigh for the first time since the 2021-22 season as it hosts second-ranked UConn (1-0) on Sunday afternoon.
Tip-off between the Wolfpack and the Huskies is scheduled for 3 p.m. from Kay Yow Court inside Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum. Doors open at 2 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on ABC, a first for an NC State women's basketball home contest. Live radio coverage will also be available on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh and on the Varsity Network App.
Tickets for the matchup are sold out, but fans interested in attending can check SeatGeek, the official fan-to-fan marketplace of the Wolfpack.

SERIES HISTORY (UConn leads 8-2)
- Sunday marks the 11th overall meeting between NC State and UConn. The teams met for the first time in the 1991 NCAA Tournament and most recently faced off in the first month of the 2022-23 season.
- The game finalizes a home-and-home series that the teams announced in June 2021.
- NC State hosts UConn for just the second time in the series between the teams. The Wolfpack fell by a 78-50 score in that Nov. 24, 2002 home game.
- The Pack won its first trip to UConn in December 1991 and also earned an additional win over the Huskies in the 1998 NCAA Tournament regional final.
- UConn is on a six-game winning streak in the series, with that 1998 win marking NC State's last over the Huskies.
- NC State and UConn last faced off on Nov. 20, 2022, with the Huskies coming out on top by a 91-69 score in what was the Pack's largest margin of defeat in all of 2022-23.
- This marks the third time that NC State's Moore and UConn's Geno Auriemma will face off as head coaches. Moore was an assistant coach on Kay Yow's staff when the teams matched up during the 1994-95 campaign.

- NC State has defeated a total of 36 nationally-ranked opponents (36-44) in the Moore era.
- The Pack has defeated six top-five foes (6-14) under Moore's leadership: No. 2 Notre Dame in 2016-17, No. 1 South Carolina in 2020-21, No. 1 Louisville in 2020-21, No. 5 Louisville in 2020-21, No. 2 Maryland in 2021-22, No. 3 Louisville in 2021-22.
- NC State has hosted a total of 20 opponents ranked in the AP Top 25 since the renovation of Reynolds Coliseum (start of 2016-17 season). NC State has won 13 of those 20 home games. Prior to its Feb. 6, 2023 home loss to No. 11 Virginia Tech, the Pack had a streak of five-straight ranked wins at home.
