Pack Gets Past Mount Olive to Wrap up Preseason

NC State will open the regular season Monday by hosting The Citadel
RALEIGH – The NC State Men's Basketball team played its lone exhibition game of the preseason on Wednesday night by knocking off Mount Olive, 89-79, in PNC Arena.
Five members of the Wolfpack finished in double figures scoring, led by Casey Morsell's game-high 14 points. DJ Burns Jr. and Jayden Taylor each finished with 13, while DJ Horne added 12 and Mohamed Diarra contributed 10. Ben Middlebrooks, Dennis Parker Jr., and Diarra each tabbed seven rebounds while Michael O'Connell and Burns passed out three assists apiece.
The Pack carried a 20-point lead into halftime at 44-24, which matched it largest of the half. NC State pushed its lead to as many as 22 on the night as Burns put the Wolfpack ahead 66-44 on a three-point play with 12:19 left in the contest.
NC State saw its bench tally 43 points, headlined by Taylor's 13, while capitalizing off Trojan miscues by adding 24 points off turnovers.
The Wolfpack return to action for its regular-season opener on Monday, Nov. 6 in PNC Arena as NC State will host The Citadel for the first of a three-game homestand. Tipoff between the Wolfpack and Bulldogs is slated for 7 p.m. and will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
