Pack Finishes in Eighth Place in Rain Shortened Blessings Collegiate

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The NC State men's golf team finished in eighth place in the Blessings Collegiate Invitational held at Blessings Golf Club.
The 54-hole, three-day tournament was shortened due to rain and the final standings were based off of 36 holes of play.
For the third time in three tournaments this season, redshirt junior Nick Mathews paced the NC State lineup. The Mebane, N.C., native fired a one-under par 71 in the second round on Tuesday to finish 36 holes at two-over par and in 18th place out of 50 competitors.
Spencer Oxendine was next for the Pack in a tie for 23rd place at four-over par. Oxendine led NC State in the first round, shooting an even par 72 before shooting a 76 on Tuesday.
Joey Lenane was alone in 29th place, one shot back of Oxendine. Lenane fired rounds of 75 and 74.
Ethan Choi finished in a tie for 34th place at seven-over par. Choi shot a 74 in the second round.
Michael Vick rounded out the NC State lineup in a tie for 48th place.Â
Arkansas won its home tournament by six shots over second place Mississippi State.
NC State closes the fall portion of its schedule next week when it competes in the Williams Cup at Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, N.C.
