RALEIGH, NC – NC State and High Point couldn't settle their battle in 90 minutes, leading to the first draw of the season for the Pack.
NC State freshman goalie Samuel Terranova had four saves in his second start as the Pack and Panthers concluded in a 0-0 draw.
It was the first draw of the season for NC State (6-8-1), who were playing their final non-conference match of 2023. High Point (7-2-4) came into Raleigh having won three of their last four matches.
The Pack has kept the Panthers scoreless in their last three trips to Dail Soccer Stadium. In just his second start of the year, Terranova pitched his first shutout.
"I thought Sam showed good poise," NC State head coach George Kiefer said. "They were throwing a lot at him. I'm really pleased with what Sam has done."
The Wolfpack attempted just five shots and picked up the pace in the final minutes to try and sneak a late goal past the Panthers.
NC State's last shot attempt game in the 78th minute, from Henrique Santos, their last chance at stealing the win.
Kiefer, with two games remaining in the regular season, liked some things he saw.
"Without the ball there was some good toughness to the group, some good grittiness to the group," he said. "It was definitely a match where we made some good strides forward for sure."
