RALEIGH, N.C. – Wolfpack defensive end Savion Jackson has been named one of 49 football players for the October 2023 Comeback Player of the Year Watch List. College Sports Communicators present the sixth annual award in association with The Associated Press (AP) and the Fiesta Bowl Organization.
The award recognizes college football student-athletes from all divisions of college football for overcoming injury, illness, or other circumstances.
Jackson had both his 2021 and 2022 seasons cut short due to injury and missed the 2023 season opener but has since started every game this season for the Wolfpack, playing 204 snaps, including a season-high 52 in the Wolfpack's win over Marshall.
The Clayton, N.C. native has totaled 18 tackles, with three tackles for a loss and half a sack this season.
Jackson and NC State get ready for an in-state battle with Duke on Saturday, Oct. 14th, with kickoff set for 8 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACC Network.
