
Konig to Compete for Canada at 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup

SYDNEY – Wolfpack alumna Aislinn Konig is set for another stint with the Canadian Senior Women's National Team as she competes with the squad at FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2022.
Konig and Team Canada will begin tournament action with the Group Phase this week, playing in a round-robin format for a spot in the quarterfinals. The team's slated schedule, with dates and times converted to EST, is below. All Group Phase games can be streamed on ESPN+.

Canada vs. Serbia - Wednesday, Sept. 21 - 11 p.m. EST
Canada vs. France - Friday, Sept. 23 - 4 a.m. EST
Canada vs. Japan - Sunday, Sept. 25 - 6:30 a.m. EST
Canada vs. Australia - Monday, Sept. 26 - 6:30 a.m. EST
Canada vs. Mali - Tuesday, Sept. 27 - 2 a.m. EST
Quarterfinals: Thursday, Sept. 29
Semifinals: Friday, Sept. 30
Final and Third-Place Game: Saturday, Oct. 1
Konig graduated from NC State in May 2020 after playing a significant role in the Wolfpack's success during the 2016-17 through 2019-20 campaigns. The point guard rounded out her career by being named 2020 ACC Tournament MVP after averaging 16.7 points in three Wolfpack victories that season. She was also a Second Team All-ACC honoree in 2020.
In her entire NC State career, Konig played in 120 games, earned 99 starts and averaged 10.1 points and 3.1 assists per game. She took ownership of the program record for single-season threes made (93) and also ended her career in sole possession of second in program history with 294 made threes in four seasons.
