NC State Wrestling looks for fifth straight ACC Championship
RALEIGH, N.C. – The defending back-to-back-to-back-to-back ACC Champion NC State Wrestling team has announced its 2022-23 slate. Head coach Pat Popolizio enters his 11th season at the helm of the program, and the Pack returns seven starters and adds in the No. 3 recruiting class nationally.
Â
The 2022-23 NC State season will start with an in-state home dual inside Reynolds Coliseum, as the Pack will face Appalachian State on Friday, Nov. 4.
Â
The Pack will then hit the road for the rest of November and all of December. Up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, NC State will face Lock Haven and Nebraska and on Nov. 12 in Albany, N.Y., the Pack has Central Michigan and Illinois in duals.
Â
NC State will return to the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas in early December, and cap the month at the Collegiate Duals in New Orleans. Even though matchups are not out for the Collegiate Duals, NC State will likely face Lehigh and Cal Poly and then either Ohio State, Northern Iowa or Lock Haven.
Â
When the calendar flips over to 2023, four of the final seven duals will all be inside Reynolds Coliseum: Binghamton (Jan. 6), Army (Jan. 13), Duke (Jan. 27) and the home finale will be Pitt (Feb. 10). Road action in ACC duals will be at Virginia Tech, Virginia and North Carolina.
Â
For the second time in the last three years, the ACC Championship will be held inside Reynolds Coliseum on March 5. The 2023 NCAA Championships will conclude the season, March 16-18 in Tulsa, Okla.
