FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Pack fell 3-0 (21-25, 22-25, 21-25) to SEC foe Georgia in its first match of the ACC-SEC Challenge hosted by Arkansas on Thursday afternoon.
Three Wolfpack members tallied 10 kills to lead the Pack -- Amanda Rice, Martyna Leoniak, and Ava Brizard.
Junior middle blocker Riley Shaak marked her fourth-straight match of recording at least one block, as she tallied three against the Bulldogs.
Senior setter Kristen McDaniel recorded 20 assists for the Wolfpack.
Set One (21-25)
After an intense back and forth battle, the Pack took its first lead, 11-10, after an attack error by the Bulldogs. Georgia went on to win the set after multiple scoring runs. Rice led the Pack with five kills.
Set Two (22-25)
After a rocky start to the set, a kill by Leoniak minimized Georgia's lead to only one. From there, the Pack kept it close and only allowed Georgia a two point lead, at most. Priscilla Hernandez recorded her lone ace of the afternoon to tie the set 20-20. The Pack scored two more times before Georgia took the set, 25-22.
Set Three (21-25)
A block by Allen aided the Pack's 4-0 run to start the set. Georgia made several attempts to minimize the Pack's lead, but NC State continued to dominate. With it being 17-15, NC State up, the Bulldogs managed to make it a one point game, but a service error quickly gave the Pack a two point lead once again. Georgia took its first lead of the set after back-to-back kills. The Pack attempted to regain the lead, but was unable to stop the Bulldogs.
Next Up
The Pack returns to Barnhill arena tomorrow evening to take on host Arkansas in its final non-conference match.
