Leary Named to Walter Camp Player of the Year Watch List

Wolfpack quarterback Devin Leary has been named one of 50 "Players to Watch" for the 2022 Walter Camp Player of the Year award. Â Over the past two seasons, posts a 12-3 record as NC State's starting quarterback.

Earlier this week, The Sicklerville, N.J., native was announced as the ACC Preseason Player of the Year and last week was named to the watch lists for the Maxwell and Davey O'Brien Awards. In 2021, Leary set a new school single season record with 35 passing touchdowns breaking the previous mark of 34 held by Philip Rivers (2003).

The 2022 Walter Camp watch list will be narrowed to 10 semi-finalists in mid-November. The 2022 Walter Camp Player of the Year recipient, which is voted on by the 130 NCAA Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors, will be announced on ESPN's College Football Awards Show (date TBD).
The winner will then receive his trophy at the Foundation's 55th annual national awards banquet in New Haven, Conn in early 2023.
