TEMPE, Ariz. - The NC State men's tennis team has been named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team for the 2021-22 season, as announced by the organization on Monday. The honor marks the third season in a row in which the squad has garnered the award.
In order to be named an ITA All-Academic Team, a program must have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or above on a 4.00 scale and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the year.
In addition to the team honor, three members of the Pack achieved ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades. Collin Shick garnered the award for the fifth season while Braden Shick attained his second-straight honor. Luca Staeheli received the laurels for the first time in his career.
To tab a spot as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, an athlete must have a GPA of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
