GREENSBORO, N.C. – Logan Morris and Maddie McPherson of NC State softball have been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team as announced by the league office on Friday morning.
With these two selections, NC State has placed multiple student-athletes on the All-ACC Academic Team for the 10th time in program history. Morris made her way on the academic squad for the second time in her career while this marks McPherson's first ACC academic nod of her career.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Morris earned her bachelor's degree in December but remained on campus to play her final season of softball. While taking classes in the spring, Morris posted a 3.25 grade point average. Throughout her time in Raleigh Morris was named an NC State Scholar-Athlete over five semesters highlighted by earning a spot on the Dean's List. She was also a member of the 2021 ACC All-Academic Team.
McPherson boasted a perfect 4.0 spring GPA as she studied Sport and Entertainment Venue Management in graduate school. In her sole year with the Pack she was listed as an NC State Scholar-Athlete in both semesters. Prior to her arriving to Raleigh, she posted a 3.53 undergraduate GPA at Georgia Tech.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
