Freestyle Weekend has 16 from @PackWrestle Competing

RALEIGH, N.C. – Sixteen members of the 2022-23 NC State Wrestling team will be in freestyle action this week, spread across three events. A trio will see action on the senior level as all three will have third place matches at a pair of Final X events. There will also be 14 from the Pack that will be in action at the U20 & U23 World Team Trials.

Jakob Camacho will start the action at Final X in Stillwater Friday afternoon where he will face Zane Richards at 57 kg. Trent Hidlay will be wrestling in two events, first at the U23 World Team Trials this weekend, then in New York at Final X on June 8 vs. Mark Hall at 86 kg. Isaac Trumble will join Hidlay at Final X for his matchup with Jay Aiello at 92 kg.

These true Third National Team Wrestle-off matches will determine the No. 3 athlete for the 2022-23 National Team, which makes the winner eligible for National Team support, including financial support, training opportunities and competition opportunities.

In addition to Hidlay, 13 other members of next year's Wolfpack wrestling team will be in action at either the U20 or U23 World Team Trials in Geneva, Ohio. The champion in each U20 (Jr.) and U23 weight class qualifies to represent the United States at the 2022 UWW World Championships in Serbia in September.
