ROME, Ga. - The 20th-ranked NC State men's tennis team concluded its ACC Championships run on Friday, falling to No. 17 North Carolina in a tight 4-3 decision.

DOUBLES RECAP
Across all three doubles courts play was close, but in the end the Tar Heels came away with the crucial doubles team point.

Benjamin Sigouin and Peter Murphy got the first win of the day on court three, defeating Braden Shick and Collin Shick, 6-3.

Court two proved to be the decider as Casey Kania and Logan Zapp recorded a 6-4 victory over Robin Catry and Yannai Barkai.

SINGLES RECAP
Despite entering singles down 1-0 in the team score, the match came down to the final singles court.

North Carolina went up 3-0 early behind Zapp's 6-2, 6-2 win over Luca Staeheli and Sigouin's 6-1, 6-3 defeat of Martins Rocens.

The Pack struck back, though, first with No. 113 Catry's straight-set 6-3, 6-2 takedown of Mac Kiger. Catry was joined in victory by Braden Shick, who tabbed a 6-4, 7-5 win over Peter Murphy on court six.

Damien Salvestre secured NC State's final win of the match, defeating Anuj Watane 6-4, 7-6(3).

Court one was close throughout and included two tiebreaker sets. No. 33 Brian Cernoch of North Carolina won the first set but fell in the second before coming back to claim the individual and Tar Heel team win. He defeated No. 91 Rafa Izquierdo Luque 7-6(3), 6-7(5), 6-3.
