Former Wolfpack quarterback Jatavis Sanders has joined the NC State football recruiting staff as the Director of Scouting.

During his tenure as a high school coach, he mentored some of the top players in the country, including wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, who ranks sixth in NC State history in receptions and now plays for the New England Patriots.
Â
Sanders played for the Wolfpack in 1999 and 2000, backing up record-setting QBs Jamie Barnette and Philip Rivers. He transferred to East Tennessee State, where he earned a degree in communications in 2003. In 2009, he was awarded an MBA and earned a teaching certification from the University of Georgia in 2012.
Â
He was listed as one of the top 50 prospects in Georgia following his prep career, when he passed for 2,200 yards and rushed for 1,500.
Â
Sanders is married to the former Danyel Daniels and they have three children: Elijah (18), Arianna (13) and Josiah (5).
