RALEIGH, N.C. – The Wolfpack had seven of its 10 wrestlers awarded a bye into the semifinals, as the Wolfpack will look for a fourth straight ACC title this Sunday at the 2022 ACC Wrestling Championship in Charlottesville, Va.
Four Pack wrestlers went undefeated against ACC foes this year, and three were awarded a #1 seed (tied for the most in the ACC along with Virginia Tech). Tariq Wilson (149 pounds), Trent Hidlay (184) and Isaac Trumble (197) all were a perfect 5-0 against ACC opponents in duals and will be the top seed in their weight class.
Heavyweight Tyrie Houghton was 3-0 in ACC duals, and earned the second seed. Joining Houghton as No. 2 seeds will also be Jakob Camacho (125), Thomas Bullard (165) and Hayden Hidlay (174). All first and second seeds have byes into the semifinals.
The Pack will have three wrestlers see action in the opening round, hoping to advance to the semifinals like the seven with a bye. Ryan Jack (141) and Ed Scott (157) are the third seeds, while Kai Orine (133) is the fourth seed.
The schedule: 11:00 AM First Round Matches • 1:00 PM Semifinals • 3:30 PM Consolation Semifinals • 5:00 PM Consolation Finals • 7:00 PM Finals.
The finals will be televised on the ACC Network, and all the other action will be streamed on ACC Network Extra on two mats.
