Wolfpack to Face No. 6 South Carolina in Top-20 Matchup

RALEIGH - The No. 16 NC State men's tennis program (10-2, 1-0 ACC) will continue its 2022 campaign Tuesday, March 1 at 3 p.m. with a matchup against No. 6 South Carolina (11-2).
The match marks the Wolfpack's sixth against a top-25 opponent in the 2022 season.
Fans attending matches before 5 p.m. on weekdays will need to obtain a virtual parking permit here.
PACK IN THE RANKINGS
The team moved up four spots in the Feb. 23 ITA Rankings to No. 16, its highest ranking of the season.
Two members of the Pack are ranked in the latest edition of the ITA Singles Rankings as Rafa Izquierdo Luque checks in at No. 84 and Robin Catry sits at No. 101.
In doubles, Robin Catry and Luca Staeheli rank 34th while Martins Rocens and Fons Van Sambeek are 51st.
SCOUTING THE GAMECOCKS
South Carolina holds an 11-2 record going into the match against NC State, a record that includes wins over three top-10 teams. The Gamecocks are coming off a 4-1 defeat of No. 10 Kentucky.
Daniel Rodrigues is the highest-ranked singles player for South Carolina at No. 19. Toby Samuel ranks 41st, and Connor Thomson rounds out the group of ranked singles competitors with a ranking of 109th.
In doubles, Rodrigues and Thomson are ranked No. 13.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State opened its ACC slate on Sunday, defeating Boston College 7-0. The Pack won the doubles points behind a ranked win by No. 51 Martins Rocens and Fons Van Sambeek and a win by Yannai Barkai and Collin Shick.
Five of the Wolfpack's singles wins in the match came in straight-set fashion, including a win by Van Sambeek in which he dropped just a single game.
