
Rifle Ready For GARC Championships

RALEIGH – The No. 15 NC State rifle team will shoot in the Great American Rifle Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday at Tronsrue Marksmanship Center held at Army.
The Championships are broken into two days with smallbore being shot on Friday and air rifle on Saturday. Competition both days is scheduled to begin at approximately 8 a.m. with an eight-finalist individual format to follow each day. Live results for the GARC Championships can be found at NCAARifle.org.
The GARC is comprised of No .9 Akron, No. 14 Army, No. 2 Kentucky, No. 8 Navy, No. 5 Ole Miss, No. 4 West Virginia and No. 16 Memphis. The Mountaineers won the GARC Championship in 2021.
SCOUTING THE PACK
NC State finished the regular season averaging 2304.40 in smallbore, 2357.70 in air rifle and 4662.10 aggregate. Addy Burrow paces the Pack with an 1170.8 aggregate average comprised of 580 smallbore and 590.8 air rifle averages.
Ben Salas follows behind Burrow with a team-best 580.1 smallbore average along with a 587.7 air rifle average for an 1167.8 aggregate average. Katie Tedeschi has had a stellar freshman campaign as she is second on the team in air rifle average (589.7) while being third on the team in smallbore (575.1) and aggregate (1164.8) averages.
LAST TIME OUT
The No. 15 NC State rifle team shot an aggregate total of 4668 at the NCAA Qualifiers highlighted by multiple season- and career-high performances on Feb. 19 at Navy.
Leading the way for the Pack was Addy Burrow and Katie Tedeschi who both shot an 1173 aggregate. Burrow shot a team- and season-best 584 smallbore score while adding a 589 air rifle score to her total. Tedeschi shot a 581 in smallbore, just two shy of her season best while firing a season-high 593 air rifle score.
Tedeschi's air rifle total allowed her to qualify for the NCAA Championships as an alternate.
