#16 Men’s Tennis Set for Three-Match Weekend

RALEIGH - The 16th-ranked NC State tennis program (7-2) will continue its season Thursday, Feb. 24 against Radford (2 p.m.) and NC A&T (6 p.m.) before welcoming Boston College to the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center Sunday, Feb. 27 for a 12 p.m. matchup.
Fans attending matches before 5 p.m. on weekdays will need to obtain a virtual parking permit here.
PACK IN THE RANKINGS
The team moved up four spots in the Feb. 23 ITA Rankings to No. 16, its highest ranking of the season.
Robin Catry is ranked in singles at No. 31 while Martins Rocens checks into the singles rankings at No. 125. Additionally, the Wolfpack duo of Yannai Barkai and Collin Shick is ranked in doubles at No. 29.
SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
Holding a 2-3 record, Radford comes off a 7-0 win over Hampton to open its conference season. The team's six singles wins in the match were all in straight-set fashion.
The squad is experienced with four seniors and two juniors.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
NC A&T opened its season on Feb. 18 and will come into the match against NC State having played just two competitions in 2022.
The team fell in a close 4-3 match at Queens University to open the season and lost to Elon, 6-1, on Tuesday.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Boston College (3-2) fell in its first two matches of the season but comes into the weekend on a three-game winning streak. The Eagles will open ACC play Saturday at Wake Forest before traveling to Raleigh.
The Eagles doubles pair of JJ Bianchi and Max Motlagh checks into the ITA rankings at No. 27.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State recorded its first win over North Carolina in nine years on Feb. 17, defeating the Tar Heels in a 4-3 decision.
While North Carolina won the doubles point, it was the Wolfpack that was victorious in four of the six singles matches. Wins by Rafa Izquierdo Luque, Robin Catry, Luca Staeheli, and Damien Salvestre got NC State its third win over a top-25 team this season.
