RALEIGH – After clinching its share of the 2022 ACC regular season title on Sunday afternoon, NC State women's hoops moved up to No. 3 in the latest release of the Associated Press Top 25 on Monday.
NC State maintained its nation-leading active streak of top-five rankings, as it has been ranked fifth or higher in the last 31 AP polls. That streak started on Week 3 of last season (Dec. 7, 2020).
The Wolfpack is in the midst of a five-game winning streak and has put together a 25-3 overall record with just one contest remaining in the regular season. The squad is 16-1 in ACC play and went a perfect 9-0 in league games played on its home court this season. NC State's 2022 regular season title marks the first for the team in 32 years as it last accomplished the feat during the 1989-90 campaign.
NC State most recently earned back-to-back 30+ point home victories over Wake Forest (92-61) and Syracuse (95-53) to round out its regular-season home slate. The team's 42-point win over the Orange marked its largest scoring margin in ACC play this season.
NC State has an open date on Thursday, Feb. 24 and then rounds out its regular season schedule on the road on Sunday, Feb. 27 when it makes the trip to Virginia Tech. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. from Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va., and the game will be televised nationally on the ACC Network.
