Multiple NC State players advance in Pro Futures event

Wolfpack pair successful in ITA Championships

Damien Salvestre and Brady Shick advanced to the quarterfinals of the 15K Pro Futures event in New York.

Shick defeated NC State teammates Fons Van Sambeek, 6-2, 6-2. Up next for Shick is Shunsuke Mitsui (791 ATP ranking).

Salvestre knocked off Jacob Brumm (1094 ATP ranking) 6-1, 6-4. Salvestre will take on Menelaos Efstathiou (949 ATP).

Van Sambeek isn't done in New York. In the doubles field he advanced with Robin Catry. The duo advanced on a walkover as their opponents withdrew due to injuries.

Van Sambeek and Catry will take on John McNally (592 ATP doubles ranking) and Shunsuke Mitsui (927 ATP doubles ranking).

In San Diego, the NC State duo of Joseph Wayand and Rafael Iziquierdo Luque defeated Stefan Dostanic and Bradley Frye of Southern California 6-3, 7-6. Dostanic and Frye were the No. 2 seed.
